Dallas Arboretum 2016

Rebekah:

As part of our August tradition, we found a day to go visit the Dallas Arboretum during $1 days.  It was raining the whole drive over there, but somehow we didn't receive a drop while we were there.  We stayed in the children's area the whole time and had such a blast.  You can also check out our Dallas Arboretum 2015 and Dallas Arboretum 2014 trips.

This ball rotates around in the water.  It's the Earth!

These chimes were so much fun to bounce on.  We made music!

Here is the Earth again.  The sun is BIG!  They also had a cool little demonstration of the earth spinning and the moon going around the earth.  It actually kind of made sense.

Here is where we got to create our own weather event.  We made it hail.

Here is a little man-made cave, but it had a pretty cool stalactite.  That's a big word.

We played with the solar panels and whenever I moved the plastic cloud, the ball would shoot up to the very top.  Then when I covered the solar panel again, the ball would fall.

We also played with various water pumps.

The tree house was super fun.  Hannah loved climbing up the nets.

Here is a little pretend bird's nest.  Notice I'm flapping my wings.  Tweet tweet.

Check out my egg.  I'm hatching.

This ant was fun to climb but I'm so glad ants aren't that big in real life.

Hannah is Swimming!

Hannah:

I haven't posted in a while as Rebekah has done such a great job telling you about our adventures, but today is the day to make my big announcement.  I swam by myself!  We have been working on swimming for a long time, but it's just really scary without my life jacket.  I haven't wanted to try much on my own until our recent trip to the local water park.

I could touch the bottom, and then I realized I didn't need to be scared.  And I swam.  By myself.

And then I swam to the steps.  By myself.

Rebekah did some great swimming too.  She was practicing her dive and then she did some excellent freestyle work.

After that we thought it would be fun to swim back and forth to each other as sisters.  That was so fun.  I love my sister.  Here I am swimming to Rebekah:

Here is Rebekah swimming to me:

We had such a fun time at the water park and it's all because we found a pool where I can touch the bottom.  I can't wait to practice my new swimming skills.

Circus Xtreme

Rebekah

We had the greatest time at the "Greatest Show on Earth".  The circus was amazing.  We got there super early and had a chance to go on the floor and see the people up close and in person and then we headed to our seats in this giant huge building where we were 8 million feet off the ground.

We also had fun taking lots of silly pictures with their app.

Now onto the show!  Check out this tight rope routine.

These guys are hard to see but they are glow in the dark bungee jumping diving people.  It was cool.

This canon was so unbelievable.  They really shot a person from it.  Check out the video!

This one had dancers on this giant ball and then mermaids hanging from the ceiling.  I thought Mommy said that mermaids weren't real, but I pointed out that she was incorrect.

This spinning double wheel was really scary.  I thought that guy was going to fall, but he didn't.  There was one time he tripped on his jump rope and it got stuck between his legs.  Mommy gasped, but he was totally in control.  These guys are experts.

Hannah was looking forward to the tigers the whole time and they were so cool.  They made a cage and only one guy was allowed inside.  He commanded the tigers by name to do various things.  Occasionally he had to tell the tiger twice or say the phrase "listen to me" and then they would. Mommy said she could relate!

These little poodles were so fast and really cute.

This trampoline act was totally awesome.  These guys would lay on their backs, bounce on the trampoline, and then stand on top of that giant tower.  That must be the bounciest trampoline ever made.

The bicycle guys were really neat as well.

Here they are beginning the grand finale.  There was so much going on here.  The trampoline guys were bouncing, the bikes were going, and the entire cast was about to come back out at the same time.
