New things

In the past few weeks, I have done so many new things that Mommy and Daddy are super excited.  For example, I discovered the "eee" sound.  It's hard to believe it took so long since they add that sound to every.single.word....(sigh).  I am now babbling with a new vowel and it's so much fun.

One thing I did for the second time in my life was fall asleep in the car.  I also did this around 5 months old.  Mommy was so shocked she took a picture!  I will spare you the details of how that 5 minute nap threw off my entire nap schedule for the day!

Another new thing is getting a pair of shoes now that I'm walking all the time.  I had one pair (some pink ones) that I started with, but they fell apart the second time I wore them.  Mommy took me to find some new shoes at Walmart and she is hoping that I'm not obsessed with the velcro and removing them off my feet all the time.  Little does she know.....

I'm also becoming quite masterful at carrying lots of things while walking.

I know there will be many firsts in my life, but it just seems like there have been so many lately.  It's so fun to be a big kid!

Working on my stride

Once I took my first steps at 13 months, I thought it would be smooth sailing.  The reality is that it is really scary standing up and trying to get around on my own!  It has taken a lot of time, but I'm starting to feel more confident about my walking abilities.  My favorite way to walk is to hold somebody's finger.

Once I start feeling good about my skills, I tend to walk around my playhouse in circles as many times as I can before falling or running over to see Mommy or Daddy.

While I'm walking, I like to wave my arms around and/or clap my hands.  My parents call it "arm flaily" for two reasons.  One, everything they say ends in the "y" or "ee" sound.  Two, I'm flailing my arms quite liberally!

Even though I'm always on the go, I do stop for about 3.2 seconds every 5 hours to contemplate the meaning of life....er, to figure out how toy A fits inside toy B.
