Butterfly Flutterby 2015

Rebekah:

I had the COOLEST experience ever.  You are never going to believe me when I tell you about this, but I went to the Butterfly Flutterby yesterday and the most amazing thing happened.  Before we get to that, though....

We started out with a butterfly craft, some delicious popcorn, and a general stand-around-and-wait for butterflies agenda.  Honestly, it was a little boring. 

Finally the butterfly release happened and all the butterflies started heading to Mexico.  I was so bummed because I wanted a butterfly, but none of them were stopping around us.

Then we spotted one on a carseat.  We finally got to look at it up close and personal.  Then suddenly, the butterfly flew to my arm and landed on me!  Seriously!  It landed on me!  At first I jumped a little, and then I got really excited.  I later told Mommy that it kind of itched a little when he was holding onto my arm.

On our way out, we stopped by some pumpkins for a few pictures.

School Hayride and Pumpkin Patch 2015

Hannah:

This week was our annual hayride and pumpkin patch event at school.  This is always a favorite of mine.  You can see one of our previous events here: 2013 School Pumpkin Patch.  I was so little back then, and just barely walking! At the very end of this blog post you can see some pictures from 2012-2014.

First things first.  Find pumpkin.  Get pumpkin.  I ran over and grabbed the first one I saw, and what a beautiful pumpkin it was!

I was trying to steal Mommy's camera here.  I'm so sneaky.

Then the official photo with all the little pumpkins around me.

Now it's hayride time.  I sat with my teacher and my friends in class and rode around on some hay.  I liked it and thought it was lots of fun.

Next was Rebekah's turn.  She did her hayride first, and I really wish I could have seen it because she was so happy!  She's wearing the orange dress below.

As soon as she was done she went and scooped up her very own pumpkin, too.  See how happy she was?

State Fair of Texas 2015

I cannot tell you how excited I am to share about my most amazing trip with Mommy.  She picked me up from school and surprised me with a trip to the fair!  I have to admit that I had no idea what she was talking about, but I distinctly heard the words "train", "rides", and "corny dogs" so I knew I was in for a special treat.

Getting to the fair was one of my favorite parts.  I got to ride on the train - a real one!!

As soon as we got there, we headed for Big Tex.  Mommy tried to tell me about him on the train, but I didn't realize how big he was.  He even talks!

We saw some baby chicks who just hatched last night.  We also saw a baby calf, baby ducklings, baby pigs, a few sheep and some goats.

 

We heard about this butterfly area and I told Mommy that we had to go.  Somehow Mommy made it happen and we saw so many butterflies.  It was really incredible.  I was just a little sad that none of them landed on me.

We went to this really incredible show called Pet Palooza and Mommy snapped this picture of us before the show with the giant ferris wheel in the background.

The animals were amazing - dogs, cats, birds (flying over our head!!), a pig, and even a porcupine.  Mommy compiled a few clips here.

Next up was the Midway.  Can you believe how big this ferris wheel is?  I am definitely not interested in going on that.

We did, however, find a log ride.  We road around on nice flat water until the very end where we went up a giant ramp and fell down the slide.  I even got a little wet.  Mommy kept asking me if it was fun and I kept telling her it was scary.  She even asked if it was scary-fun and I told her that it was just plain scary.  Mommy seemed to like it though.

Mommy let me look at a bunch of different rides and select a few that I wanted to try.  I really wanted to ride this swing.  At first, I was a little scared, but then I realized how incredibly fun it was.  After we did a few rides, I told Mommy I wanted to ride it again and I did.  So fun.

This was a little hot air balloon contraption that went up and down and all around.  The all around part was a little difficult but it was still fun.

Then I rode this cool airplane.  It went really fast.

After all those rides, Mommy knew it was time to eat, but the corny dog stand was 800 miles away by Big Tex.  Right as she was telling me it would be a while before we got to eat, we saw another Fletcher's Corny Dog stand right there in the Midway.  Hallelujah.  It was so yummy.  Best corny dog ever, and let me tell you that I know my corny dogs!

After that, we went around the Cotton Bowl and learned a little about agriculture, saw a few more baby animals, and generally headed back to the train.

I have to say that Mommy and I definitely had the best day ever.  She smiled as much as I did, and I loved being with her and having her all to myself.
