Perot Museum

Rebekah:

While all the big kids were returning to school this week, we went to the Perot Museum.  It was so great because we had the whole museum to ourselves!  Look how high we are in the building.

We found this cool ball drop thingy.  When the ball falls on top of a piece of paper on top of another ball, it makes a hole.  Awesome stuff.

Check out these giant dinosaurs.  Rooooaaarrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We also saw this manufactured tornado which seems really neat, but I think tornados are scary.

 

This video below was the coolest thing.  We could draw on a computer and then it would turn into lights on the wheel.  Mommy drew this one, but can you see what it says?

We also found one of those wind tunnels with tons of different shapes to put in there.  We only spent a minute here, but it was a good fun minute.

We tried to work these remote control vehicles, but it was so hard.

Last, but certainly not least, was the coolest little music room ever.  It was a small soundproof room that let us have a blast playing on the keyboard and drums.  Daddy was a drummer, and I can see some early talent developing in both Hannah and me.

Dallas Arboretum 2015

We returned to the Dallas Arboretum this year during August dollar days, and once again Mommy picked a once in a generation cool day for us to enjoy this special day.  It was Hannah's first trip, although Mommy took me by myself last year.  You can see that blog here:  Dallas Arboretum 2014

Hannah went down the celery slide like I did last year, but it was wet and sticky and not particularly fun.

We discovered a new thing this year that we didn't even know about.  It's like chimes, but they are in the ground and you have to jump on them to make sounds.  It was so fun!

 

This year, Hannah got to discover the wind tube, but I guess I wasn't really feeling it this time.

 

You can see the water pathway above that we were trying to build, but they had these cool pumping stations where we had to make the water start by pumping the lever up and down.  We were pretty good at that.

 

See this picture above?  We are actually spraying water and trying to hit a target.  Hannah's hands were a little small, so it was tough for her, but I nailed that target!

 

In this video, I was trying to make my very own tornado.  How fun!

And this picture below?  Do you see why Mommy took a picture of the back of my head?  No?  It's a squirrel silly!  Look, right there on the tree.  He was the nicest squirrel ever, and definitely one of my favorite parts of the whole day.

After we saw this giant flower pot above, we found an area to build our very own flower.  Look at Hannah carrying that super heavy leaf!

We found these nets in the top of a little overlook.  They were jumpy!

Look at the picture above.  That is me and my sister on a bench right by the entry/exit.  Compare that to the picture below.  That was me when I was just one year old.  I wasn't even walking when this picture was taken!  Picture from Holly Jayroe Photography.

Our First Haircuts

It has been a long wait, but Hannah and I finally had our very first haircut.  And you know what?  It was awesome!!!  Here are the "before" pictures:

Then it was time to get in the chairs.  Hannah's haircut was happening at the same time as mine, so we kept looking at each other to reassure one another as the process unfolded.

Now it's time for the big hot hairdryer.  I have never had a hairdryer on my hair before, and neither had Hannah, but both of us did great.

After she dried my hair, she curled it and put it up to look super cute!

Hannah did so great with her haircut, too.  They gave her a bunny to keep her company while she was there:

Hannah had 4 inches cut from her hair!!  And it's still so long and pretty.

After she was done, she got to select some glitter for her face.  She loved it!

Are you ready for the reveal?  This is Hannah seeing herself in the mirror for the first time with the pretty stars on her cheek.  She is smiling at herself!

But that's not all, mommy's "groupon" or whatever, included some finger nail paint for me.  I have never ever had my nails painted before, and this was pretty much the most exciting moment of my entire life.  Look what a big girl I am!

I even managed to wait so patiently for the polish to dry.

This was the best experience ever.  I hope my hair grows super fast so we can go back soon, and I hope Mommy gets another groupon before then!  One of the best parts??  My hair smells so delicious!!!!  Yum, yum.
