Making Valentine's Cards

Rebekah

For school on Thursday, I need to bring Valentine's Cards to put in everyone's special boxes at school.  At first, Mom thought it would be fine to just print some out from the internet and cut along the dotted lines (sorry you got those Hannah), but then she remembered how much stuff I brought home last year and how silly she felt with her 25 cent cards.  Then she had THIS idea:

First, I painted a big heart...for practice:

Then I painted some little hearts:

And then I ended up with all of this:

Somehow the hearts were magically cut and then I got to glue them onto the card:

Check out my card:

You can't see all the words yet, but trust me, it's pretty cool.  After the heart dried on the card, I placed these miniature recorders (aka cheap whistles) into the baggies (yes, the picture is blurry - you can blame Mom's camera):

Then suddenly I had all of these beautiful cards:

The card says "Happy Valentine's Day.  You make my heart sing with joy!  Handcrafted with love by Rebekah."  Get it?  Sing with joy?  A miniature recorder?  Moving along...

Yes, it was made with love and with lots of fun.  Happy Valentine's Day!

(p.s. - Mom wants me to tell you that she came up with the wording and the card idea totally on her own (no pinterest nonsense).  She says it's so rare to have a creative thought that she made me blog about it.  Oy.)

  1. Super like. That is awesome. But my kids are giving out 25 cards. :)

  2. I bought 6 recorders for a whopping 97 cents at wally world. Then I printed the "card" with regular cardstock. Don't worry, I'm still cheap :) Don't lose faith in me! And yes, I really did just print off some internet freebies for Hannah to use.
